CITY COUNCIL MEETING
October 10, 1983
8:00 P.M.
The Wylie City Council met in a called session at 8:00 P.M. on Monday,
October 10, 1983 in the Council Chambers at City Hall . Mayor Squires
presided. A quorum was present and notice of the meeting had been post-
ed for the time and manner required by law. Those in attendance were
Mayor Robert B. Squires, Mayor Pro Tem John Akin, Councilmen Percy Simmons ,
Cleo Adams, William Martin, City Secretary Carolyn Jones. Councilman
Don Hughes was absent.
Councilman Martin made a motion to recess into Executive Session, in
accordance with Article 6252-17, subsection 2G, to discuss personnel
matters. Councilman Adams seconded, all in favor.
Mayor Squires called meeting back into open session. Mayor Squires stated
the purpose of this meeting was to interview two candidates for City Man-
agers position.
Mayor Squires entertained a motion for Council to offer the position of
City Manager at a salary of $33,000. per year plus moving expense and
car allowance to Mr. Gus Pappas. Motion was made by Councilman Martin.
Seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Akin. Three in favor. One in opposition (Council-
man Adams) - one Councilman not present (Don Hughes) .

Motion was made to adjourn by Councilman Martin. econded by Mayor
Pro Tem Akin. All in favor.
