04-15-1932 (City Council) Minutes Minutes of City Council Meeting Held April 15, 1932 Council met on the above date with all present except Alderman E. Hausewright. After canvasing the returns of election held April 5th the following officers were declared elected. G.P. Maynard Mayor,A. Brown Alderman,J.W. Rees Alderman,J.A. Hammett Marshall, Ray Pitts Clerk. Bonds for the mayor and marshal were read and approved by the council. After which the Mayor made the following appointments,J.W. Rees Treas.,J.C.Jennings Supervisor of Sewer, C.L. Hillis Mayor Pro Term,A. Brown, E. Hausewright St. committee, W.F. Duncan attorney,Albus Davis fire marshal, G.P. Maynard as Health Officer. City Council approved. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved, an ordmance was passed levying a tax for the year 1932 totaling 1.20 per 100.00. Valuation of property was moved and second that Raymond Jones be excused from the 5 day street duties after first of May, so that the street committee could use him through the year in emergency cases, motion carried. The mayor was instructed by the council to place a notice in the paper in regard to street tax payments by May 1st. The question of a deputy marshall was discussed by the council, but no appointment was made. The question was brought up whether or not a person could discontinue the sewer and keep the water, was moved and second that sewer supervisor we instructed to notify parties who have sewer connection and want to discontinue some that they used have to completely break the sewer lines, motion carried.The following bills allowed,J.A.
