08-19-1931 (City Council) Minutes Minutes of City Council Meeting Held August 19, 1931
Special meeting of city Council held on above date with all present except Marshal G. H. Richards.The
Mayor stated the purpose of the meeting was to discuss,first the mandamus proceeding against the city
by Gco W.Jalonick of Dallas to compel the payment of 574.00 claim against city of Wylie, second the
appointment of a city marshal.Thrird,the question of cutting the salary of pumper, fourth the matter of
asking Mr McDonald to make safe his burned property.
In the mandamus preceding the council by vote instructed the mayor to appoint a committee to go to
Dallas and confer with Mr Jalonick in regard to a compromise or settlement of the case.The mayor
appointed Attorney W F. Duncan,A. Brown, R.L. Gallagher, I.V. Boren and on request of council included
himself.
In regard to City Marshal. Council my motion and second elected Mr J.A. Hanimett(?)to fill the
unexpired term of G. H. Richards, resigned.
The question of cutting the salary of Pumper was discussed and laid over until next meeting.
The mayor was instructed to instruct the marshal to see Mr S.M. McDonald and require him to make
safe the wall left standing when his building was burned.
No other business council adjourned
