07-15-1931 (City Council) Minutes Minutes of City Council Held July 15, 1931
Council met on above date with all present except Alderman C. L. Hillis and Marshal G. H. Richards after
Invocation by Mayor G. P. Maynard the minutes of meetings held on May 15 and June 15 were read and
approved.The question of renewing the culbet across the grand street from Mrs F. M. Brooks to I. V.
Brown corner was taken up and discussed on length and was left to the street committee to fix.The
question of telephone rates was taken up and discussed and on motion and second the elcric was
instructed to ask the telephone Co for a reduction in the monthly telephone rates as follows Business
Phones 2.00 per month, Residence phones 1.50 per month, motion carried. Was moved and seconded
that all city employees be instructed to ship all city merchandise over the railroads. Motion carried.The
following Bills were allowed,J.T. Lovy 1.00, Sam Smith 1.00,Albus Davis 4.96, Gulf Rif Co 80, SSL& SW
RR Co J. R.Jones Salary 30.00,J. R.Jones for Rng go Weaver Acch 10.59, Neptune Meter Co 60.22,
Gamon Miter Co 95.00, Dallas foundry Co 21.00. No further business council adjourned
