04-15-1937 (City Council) Minutes April 15th 1937 The City of Concil of the City of Wylie Tex met in regular session in the city Hall with all member present. The Minutes of last regular meeting and to Call Meetings of March 24th also april 7th was read and approved. After some discussions there was a motion and Second before the House to allow John Story $200 per week for one month, to buy groceries with Motion Carried. Regular appointments by the Mayor for the ensueing year, was imponded the duties of Fire Marshall Treasurer and Water Collector on Jess Calloway, J. W. Rees Mayor Protem Street Committee and Sewer Committee. Fay Moore, A Brown. C.R. Smith. Motion & Second all appointments be Accepted, Except Fire Marshall Treasurer and Water Collector appointment.. Motion Carried. (1) Motion & Second that the imponding of the duties of Fire Marshall Treasurer and Water Collecting on Jess Calloway be carried over till next regular meeting nite. Motion Carried. (2) Motion & Second to allow G. C. Hughes $2500 for a Gas tractor the City of Wylie purchased from him, and this is to apply on Mr Hughes delinquent taxes. Motion Carried. (3) Motion & Second the City Contact the Singer sewing machine co in regard to buying the Sewing machines in the W.P.A. Sewing room, and in the event the City buy the machines and then, later the sewing room should close down then the city sell the machines and the money placed in the city general acct. Motion Carried. approved Racy 4, Pcra April 15th 1937 (4) Motion & Second. The Mayor leash the swming pool if he can for not less than $25 per week and more if he can get it with water furnished. Motion Carried. (5) Motion & Second that the swing pool will close every Saturday nit at midnight and stay closed till midnight Sunday nite. failure to comply with these restrictions will be punishable with a fine not less than $500 not over $100��. Motion Carried. (6) Motion & Second that the leese of the Swming pool be responsible for all Accidents and the conduct of all persons at the pool. (7) Motion & Second if the City uses street tax labor on Cleaning up the City, use the ones first that owes back street tax to the City. Motion Carried. (8) Motion & Second that the street& Sewer Committee have the Authority to buy Materials necessary for making repairs or any way they see fit to use it and present an itimised Account before the Concil to be Accepted or rejected by this body and if Accepted to be paid for by the city. Motion Carried. (9) Motion & Second to Raise J. R. Jones Salary $50 0 per month, so he can purchase for himself a Car and operate it, being able to carry tools and equipment around with him in the discharge of his duties. Motion Carried.
