07-15-1937 (City Council) Minutes July 15th 1937 The city council of the Town of Wylie "Tex" met in regular session in the city Hall with all members present except P. 7//1447tand. The minutes of last meeting was read and approved. There was a Motion & Second before the house to allow Mrs Williams &Hicks to sell candy and drinks at swimming Pool. Motion Carried. Motion & Second to allow Mrs Wiliams and Mrs Hicks $60.88 taken in at pool since opening nite and to allow them $1000 per week for another month. Motion Carried. Motion & Second to have D. B. Willis to mow Sewer plant grounds west of city. Motion Carried. Motion & Second to repair the two culberts across from White Hotel and at Housewright Hammett& Cos at once. Motion Carried. Motion & Second to allow A. Brown to buy 25-30 gal. drum for city. Motion Carried. Motion & Second to approved. Glenn Daniel—Bond of$2000 . Motion Carried. Motion & Second to draw up an ordinance to prohibit picture shows, tent shows or any amusement from 6a-11 to 12m on Sundays. Motion Carried. Motion & Second to allow all bills. Motion Carried. Motion & Second to accept Ray L. Pitts Regisnation as Mayor. Motion Carried. Motion & Second to order an Emergency Election, to elect a Mayor and one Alderman, said election to be held on Tuesday July 27-1937. To be held in the city Hall in the Town of wylie Tex, And Mayor Pro-tem act as Mayor. Motion Carried. Motion & Second Mayor Pro-tem Fay Moore appoint Frank Smith as Judge of said election.
