03-15-1938 (City Council) Minutes March 15 — 1938
The City Concil of the city of Wylie "Tex" met in regular session at the city hall with all
members present.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor J. W. Akin, and the minutes of last
meeting was read and approved.
Mayor Akin, request a call meeting to be held on March 24th at 7.15 P.M. for the
purpose of opening sealed bids on water and sewer Bonds if any is offered as per the
citys add in the Bond Buyer issue of March the 5th and 7th
Motion & Second The Telephone Committee report be accepted and committee
be discharged. Motion Carried.
Motion Maynard Second Brown to keep the Water Collecting place in town or at
a more convenient place and not let it go to the Whiteway filling station south of Depot
on Highway. Motion Carried.
Motion Housewright Second Brown city give the Water Collections job to J R.
Jones and J R. Jones give up the Sanitary job. he has be holding for some times. Motion
Carried.
Motion & Second the city collect $1.50 on each water deposit and .25 cents each
month there after over and above the water Bill till the water meter deposit is paid and
effective on above date. Motion Carried.
Motion & Second the city sell to J E Webb one water tank for $1200 and give him
thirty to forty bills to pay for it. Motion Carried.
Motion & Second city discontinue use of the rest room in the swing pool bath
house for the time being. Motion Carried.
March 15th 1938
Motion & Second city allow Jess Calloway an Exficio of$300 per month. Motion
Carried.
Motion & Second city have a Clean up day the time to be set by A. Brown the
street Commisoner. Motion Carried.
Motion & Second city give the Sanitary Job to Edward Davis and he furnish his
own help. and he be held responsible to the city for services rendered. Motion
Carried.
Motion & Second all Bills be allowed paid as read. Motion Carried.
