04-15-1938 (City Council) Minutes April 15th 1938
The city concil of the city of Wylie Texas met in regular session with all members
present except Dr G. P. Maynard.
The meeting was call to order by Mayor Akin. The new elected Mayor and two Alderman
was declared elected by the Mayor According two the Ballat.

Hammett 99 John Wilson 94. After taking the oath of office Mayor Housewright took the
chair and proceded with the meeting. Minutes of last regular meeting and the call meeting
on Mon 24 last, was read and approved.
On Motion& Second the Bonds of Mayor Earnest Housewright and J A Hammett city
Marshall be accepted Motion Carried.
Motion & Second Fay Moore regisnation be accepted. Motion Carried.
Motion & Second the city buy $150000 worth of Bonds from Brown-Crummer co Dallas
not to exceed 40 cents on the $1.00 Motion Carried. The Mayor appointed Ray Pitts and
J. W. Akin to investigate the P.W.A. gravel project for the city, at McKinney
The following is a list of Mayor Housewright appointments

Motion & Second to postpone the appointment of city pumper until the vancie on the
concil is filled Motion Carried

Motion & Second Dr G. P. Maynards regisnation be accepted. Motion Carried.
Motion & Second Mayor order a special Election to be held on the 28 day of April
1938 two elect to alderman Motion Carried
Albert Davis was appointed by the Mayor to hold said election.
Dr P. F. Brooks was also apponted city health office by the Mayor.
Motion & Second to accept J. E. Webb $600 on water tank sold to him by the city for
$1200 and give him time on paying the Balance Motion Carried.
Motion & Second all bills be allowed paid as read.
Five election notices was posted by W. F. Duncan for the election on the 28 including on
on front door city hall also one to the Wylie Herald for publication
