11-01-1938 (City Council) Minutes November 1st= 1938
The city concil of the city of Wylie"Tex" met in special call session in the city hall, with
all members present except Mayor Housewright and C. R. Smith.
The purpose of the meeting was to appoint a night watchman jointly for the city and
the Business men who donate to the Watchman salary Applicants for the night watchman
job was W. W. McCreary. Jess Salmon. Ed Andrews S. E. Bates.
Among the Business men present at the meeting was C. R. Busch—H. C. Click
Wilson Estes. Jick Housewright. C. J. Hicks Glen Daniel. H. C. Click Wilson Estes. Jick
Housewright C.J. Hicks Glen Daniel. H.C. Click, had a written request to vote for Chas
L Hillis, there were seven votes cast and every one was in favor of W. W. McCreary. J A.
Benton who was presiding over the meeting declared W. W. McCreary elected according
to the Ballots.
There was a Motion & Second that the night watchman be placed under a
Bond and be given a deputys commission
There also was a motion& Second the city of W. W. McCreary as night watchman
Motion Carried.
There being no further Business the meeting adjourned.
