08-15-1939 (City Council) Minutes 1939 August 15th The city concil of the city of Wylie (Texas) met in regular session in the city hall with all members present. The minutes of last meeting was read and approved Mr Nelson, of Nelson and Nelson Dallas Tex Certified public Accountants and Mr Hooper were present and rendered us their report on auditing the citys books and also their bill for same There was a Motion & Second„ their report be accepted and the bill of"$150°0" one hundred fifty & no/100 be paid Motion Carried There was a Motion & Second the city discontinue use of the Voucher they have been using in the past, and on and after Sept 1939 and use the check system recommended by Mr Nelson &Hooper Motion Carried Motion & Second concil umbers take secret ballet on electing the man the city is going to hire at Motion Carried Out of six applicants Nig Davis received 5 Votes and an Motion& Second Nig Davis was hired, to be paid $50°°per month. he is to furnish team and labor in taking care of the sanitary work and he is to work under the supervision of H. A. Long water supt. and is to begin his work Wednesday morning August 16-1939 Motion Carried August 15th 1939 There was a Motion & Second the city allow H. M. Justin $1000 on night watch salary per month while he is working in W. W. McCreary place who will be off the period of the cotton growing season when will return and take over the night watch job again Motion Carried Motion & Second Claudia Mitchell keep the swming pool open another week after this coming Saturday nite if he will pay the light bill Motion Carried.
