04-01-1908 (City Council) Minutes Wylie Texas Apr 1st. 1908
The town council of the town of Wylie met in regular session on Apr. 14 at city
hall. Mayor protein R. Jackson presiding.
The following responded to roll call; A. Brown, J. J. Hollomon, J. A. Hammette C. J.
Gallagher, R. Jackson, and J. W. Amis.
Unfinished business from previous meeting relative to notices to repair walks was
disposed of as follows; E. B. Marchant was passed as repaired and Mrs Pickette being
unable to repair her walk the marshal was instructed to take out such crossings as were
not connected with walks and use same to repair said walk. Notices of A. H. Burns, W. J.
Hart, and E. R. David had been complied with Annual reports of Mayor J W Russell and
Treas J. W. Amis were submitted and referred to finance committee.
Report of A. Brown marshal read and approved.
The following 30 days notices were ordered served;
Tobe Lee walk in front of house property
C. D. Hays " property on Brown street, R. L. Stone walk in front of
Rhodes property, G. C. & G. F to fill in with gravel on right of way on west of and under
depot, Mrs Kilgore walk in front of house property.
On motion and record a special meeting was called on Apr 14 for the purpose of
declaring result of election on the 7th inst and installing the officers elected.
The following accounts were allowed;
A. G. McAdams & Co for lumber& posts 325
A. Brown salary 2500
Total allowed 2825
No further business appearing adjournament carried.
