07-14-1939 (City Council) Minutes July 14th 1939
The city concil of the city of Wylie Tex met in regular session in the city hall with all
members present except G. H. Richards Concilman.
The minutes of last meeting was read and approved.
There was a Motion & Second that employing a C.P.A. to audit city books be left
up to the auditing committee J. A. Benton and D. W. Clicks
Motion Carried.
There was a Motion & Second the city exted the sewer line to Claudie Allen's.
residence or property line. Motion Carried.
There was a Motion & Second to Rescind the ordinance permuting tent shows.
medicine shows, Doll Racks. Carnivals Road shows. etc. And to reinstate Ordinance
dated Aug 16-1937 prohibiting any of the above named shows or amusements from
operating with in the city limits of Wylie"Tex" Motion Carried
Motion & Second the city Reduce the city Marshall salary J. A. Hammett from
Ten ($1000)Dollars per month back to one ($1 )Dollar per month. Also to give the Fire
Marshalls job held by J. A. Hammett to C. R. Burch now serving as fire chief. Motion
Carried.
Motion & Second to Reduce H. A. Long city pumper, salary $1000 per month
from $8500 to $750o and the city is to employ a man to work with the water and Sewer
and street department at Forty five ($45m) Dollar per month.
