05-15-1942 (City Council) Minutes May 15th 1942 The City council of the City of Wylie Texas met in regular session. All members answering present, Mayor J.A. Pitts, presiding called the meeting to order at 830 P.M. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read, by the clerk, and on on motion of E. Housewright second by. Dennis Hillis, were approved as read. Special com, appointed to purchase a truck for the City reported, the purchase of a 1937, '/2 ton Plymouth Pickup truck at a cost of$26000 The finance comt appointed to purchase bonds, reported the purchase of two one thousand dollar bonds at a price of 700 on the dollar plus some accrued interest total amount of$14 23-22 Motion by E. Housewright and second by D. Hillis that the necessary papers be recorded by the Clerk on the truck recently bought for City The special comt. appointed to have City's streets& allies cleaned, reported weather condition had prevented doing the work, &they were instructed to continue on the job. Water and Sewerage comt, were instructed to investigate the whiteway water and sewerage situation and report to next meeting of the council. Motion by E. Housewright and second by D. Hillis carried, that the City's toilet situation be cleaned up, especialy the dry toilet conditions and the City Marshal was instructed to work with the water and sewerage comt. to open some closed allies & otherwise make access to dry toilets passable. The treasurer made a report of the financial standing of the city as follow s. Bal. in Sub. & Sinking fund 505.21 Bal in Gen. fund 4.189.97 The following accounts against the town of Wylie were read by the City Clerk and on motion of E.
