11-15-1942 (City Council) Minutes November 15, 1942 The City Council of the City of Wylie met on November 15th. 1942 with all members present except R. J. Hall and E. Housewright. Mayor Pitts presiding called the meeting to order. Minutes of the last meeting were read and declared approved as read. There being no old business before the council the Mayor declared new business in order. The bad condition of the city streets was discussed. D. B. Willis of the street committee was authorized to get in touch with the county commissioner, at the City's expense, to ask for work on the streets. He was also authorized to use galvanized iron culvert belonging to the City on any of the city streets he saw fit. Claude Housewright reported $69 deposited in the Cent. National Bank at McKinney in the name of C G Housewright Scrap Fund, the money being collected for scrap metal donated by the citizens. Henry Long was appointed to make application for p Gas Ration book for the City truck. A meter at the edge of the city limits to check entire water supply going out of the city was suggested to stop waste of water supply which the city is receiving no pay. The renting of swimming pool& house for brooder was discussed. The treasurer reported $1252'1 in the Int. and Sinking fund, 50491 in the General fund The following bills were read and on a motion by C. G. Housewright& a second by D. B.
