12-15-1942 (City Council) Minutes December 15, 1942
The City Council of the City of Wylie met on Dec 15, 1942 with all members
present except R J Hall. Mayor Pitts, presiding called the meeting to order and ordered
the minutes read. Minutes were declared approved as read.
There being no unfinished business before the Council, new business was
declared in order.
Leeton Hillis of the Central National Bank in McKinney was present at the
meeting and asked that the City funds be transferred to the Cent. Natl Bank.
Buying of City Bonds was discussed and it was agreed that the buy them back
when opportunity. It was decided that it was not advisabe to buy Gov't bonds with
the City Funds.
A motion by C G Housewright and a second by E. Housewright not to let the
building at the swimming pool be used as a domino hall, carried.
The money received from the last sale of scoop was all donated to the fund for
United China Relief, Amt $745 leaving $1002 in the fund.
The treasurer reported $1653�� Int. & Sinking fund $5266'11 in the general fund. A
Govn't Ware Bond in amt. of$100000 is at the State Nat'l Bank.
The following bills were read and ordered paid, on a motion by E. Housewright
and second by C Housewright.
