APRIL 8 , 1985
7 :00 P. M.
The Wylie City Council met in a called session on Monday ,
April 8 , 1985 at 7 :00 P. M. in the Council Chambers at City
Hall . Mayor Akin presided . A quorum was present and notice
of the meeting had been posted for the time and in the
manner required by law. Those present Mayor John W. Akin ,
Mayor Pro Tem Don Hughes , Councilmembers Percy Simmons , Cleo
Adams , and Randall Gaston, City Manager Gus Pappas , City
Secretary Carolyn Jones . Councilmembers William Martin and
Joe Fulgham were not present .
Mayor Akin called the meeting to order and read the results
of the election held on Saturday , April 6 , 1985 . The
results of this election were as follows :
Place 1 101 votes for Sandra Donovan
194 votes for Don Hughes
Place 3 159 votes for Harold Spence
137 votes for Cleo Adams
Place 5 244 votes for Joe Fulgham
7 votes cast for write-ins
Mayor Akin called for a motion to adopt a resolution
canvassing the returns and declaring the results of said
election .
Motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Hughes to adopt the
resolution canvassing the returns and declaring the results
of the April 6th election. Seconded by Councilman Simmons .
The vote was as follows: Mayor Akin - in favor , Mayor Pro
Tem Hughes - in favor , Councilman Simmons - in favor ,
Councilman Gaston - in favor , and Councilman Adams - in
favor . The motion carried with all in favor .
Motion was made by Councilman Simmons to adjourn , seconded
by Mayor Pro Tem Hughes , all in favor .
