CALLED CITY COUNCIL
MEETING - MINUTES
MAY 5, 1992
The City of Wylie City Council met in a called session on
Tuesday, May 5, 1992 at 6: 30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of
the Municipal Complex. A quorum was present and notice of
the meeting had been posted in the time and manner required
by law. Those present were Mayor John W. Akin, Council
Members Don Hughes, Ortie Messenger, and Jim Swartz , City
Manager Steve Norwood, City Secretary Carolyn Jones , and
City Attorney Steve Deiter. Mayor Pro Tem Jay Davis and
Council Members Percy Simmons and William Martin were
absent.
Mayor Akin called the meeting to order at 6: 30 P.M.
CANVASS MAY 2, 1992 ELECTION RESULTS : Mayor Akin read the
following results from the May 2, 1992 election:

Mayor Akin declared the results of the election to reflect
that Place Two Council Member would be Reta Allen, Place
Four Council Member would be Steve Wright and Place Six
-.. Council Member would be Bud Naish. Mayor Akin also stated
that Proposition No. 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 , 8 , 9, and 10 passed and
Proposition No. 1 and 3 failed.

A motion was made by Councilman Messenger to validate the -- .
above election returns. Seconded by Councilman Hughes. The
vote was as follows : Mayor Akin - in favor, Councilman
Swartz - in favor, Councilman Hughes - in favor, and
Councilman Messenger - in favor. This motion carried with
all in favor.
There being no other items for discussion a motion was made
to adjourn with all in favor.
