CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Pro-Tem Jim Swartz called the meeting to order with the following
10 Councilmembers present. Steve Wright,Jay Davis, Ortie Messenger,Bud Naish, and Reta
Allen. Mayor John Akin was absent
CODE ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES
15 City Engineer Paul Beaver and Mike Schmidt,Building Official,outlined current code
enforcement activites and dean-up efforts. Sdimidt noted areas of imps vement and
discussed proposed amendments to several existing ordinances and new ordinances relating
to screening of dumpsters and junk yards that would be submitted to Council in the near
future.

MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM
City Manager Steve Norwood outlined the Meals on Wheels program scheduled to
begin in Wylie on November 2, 1992. Council discussed soliciting donations from area
5 businesses and churches and discussed a city donation of$1000.
INVENTORY CONTROLS
Council discussed with Norwood and Finance Director Brady Snellgrove dianges in
30 the inventory control systems within the city.
DELINQUENT TAXES AND TAX WRITE-OFFS
Snellgrove outlined the collection efforts being made by the firm of attorney's engaged
35 to collect delinquent taxes and discussed a list of delinquent tares proposed for purging.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Council viewed a video tape developed for distribution to proposed developers within
40 the City of Wylie and discussed the activities and make-up of the Economic Development
Board. Council made several suggestions regarding the EDB for submission to the City
Attorney for his opinion.
MANAGEMENT UPDATE

City Manager Steve Norwood updated Council on upcoming events, status of the
citizen newsletter, and general city hall activities.
