10-07-1908 (City Council) Minutes Wylie,Texas October 7, 1908
The Town Council of the Town of Wylie met in regular session on Oct 7 at C. G. Gallagher's drug
store, Mayor Baskette presiding.
The following officers were present;J.B. Baskette,J. W. Arris, C.G. Gallagher,J.A. Wilson, L.L.
Gant, and A. Brown.
Minutes of previous meeting read and adopted.
On motion & second the Sect was instructed to write the Santa Fe people a letter in answer to
their same 90 days ago in regard to time extended them.
The following 30 days notices were ordered served;
Weseley Smith walk leading to school bldg.
Mrs. Mat Brown walk in front of Sam Path(?)
James Dempsey walk leading to school bldg.
Report of Treas J. W. Arris read and referred to Finance Committee.
On motion & second Mayor was instructed to appoint committees to investigate means of
adopting something for fire emergencies in the form of a pump. J.A. Wilson & L.L. Gant were appointed
to confer with H. Mannis and J. W. and L. A. Powell to confer with City of Plano.
The Mayor appointed A. Brown & C. G. Gallagher to call on the business men of Wylie and see if
they would contribute toward paying a night marshal during the winter months.
On motion & second the Council agreed to head the list for night marshal with 2.50 per month.
The following accounts were allowed;
A. G. McAdams&Co (lumber etc) 18.50
A. Brown salary 25.00 ex officio 10.00 35.00
Total allowed 53.50
No further business appearing adjournment carried.
