Jones absence . 3 Discuss and Consider purchasing "tables" at $200 .00 each (each table seats 10) for the Don Whitt Roast benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Coby Gent and Patrick Ferguson . 4 ADJOURN CITY MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION The City Manager is the chief administrative and executive officer of the City. Responsible to the City Council for the proper administration of all the City affairs assigned to the City Manager by charter, ordinance or direction of the Council . Tasks performed include (1) appointing directors of departments , (2) performing administrative tasks required to maintain executive control of the functions of various departments , (3) preparing policy and procedural proposals for review and adoption by the City Council , (4) approving budget proposals prepared by the budget director and submitting the budget for adoption by the Council , (5) executes deeds , deeds of trust, easements, releases , contracts and other instruments binding the City to financial obligations , (6) attending meetings of the City Council to receive instructions and policy, and (7) reviewing operations franchised by the City to insure that obligations are met . Education . B.A. degree in public administration or related field . Post graduate and seminar work in city administration . Experience. Three to five years increasingly responsible experience as an Assistant City Manager or in an equivalent position . Knowledge. All phases of city administration to include methods for establishing appropriate policies and procedures. Laws governing conduct of city administration . Skill . Study and evaluation of procedures to determine appropriate action . Ability. Plan , organize and evaluate the actions of others . Interview personnel to determine ideas, facts and attitudes held by others .
