REPLACEMENT SIGN PROGRAM

FISCAL YEAR '94 - '95
Phase I , took on a fresh look replacing faded Green signs and
posts. The concept is to eliminate wind damage, theft and
introduce the break-away effect required by law. The new signs
have added features such as block numbers, directions, no nuts or
bolts and break-away square posts causing less damage to vehicles.
Phase I signs were placed in most thoroughfares through out the
city.
Cost of Materials $6 , 000 .00
Phase II , '95 - '96 Fiscal year sign replacement covers all of
North by West of Highway 78 .
Cost of Materials $6 , 000 .00
Phase III , '96 - ' 97 Fiscal year sign replacement hopefully will
cover all areas South by East of Highway 78 .
Cost of Materials $6 ,000 .00
Phase IV, '97 - '98 Fiscal year sign replacement will fill in signs
missed and replace posts on School signs, Alley 10 M.P.H. signs and
also start Stop Sign replacements.

SIDEWALK ISSUE
Numerous calls have been received by Public Works since 1990
concerning sidewalk replacements. Most complaints have been about
separation, water standing in low areas and complete deterioration.
As of to date, Public Works has not replaced sidewalks except for
emergency purposes due to utility repairs.
Typical cost to replace a 4'W x 50'L x 4" sidewalk is as follows:
4 ' x 50' - 200 sq. ft. x $3 .75 sq. ft. = $ 750 . 00
Demolition of 50' L x $4. 75 linear ft. = $ 237 .50
Sandy loam for dress up $ , 25. 00
Estimated Cost $1 , 112 .50
