Re: Installation of Telephone Facilities in the new Municipal
Complex
Dear Mr. Johnson:.
On August 20, 1987, the City of Wylie received bids for the in-
stallation of telephone facilities in the City's new Municipal
Complex. Bids were received from:

GTE Business Phone Systems
General Telephone Company of the Southwest $16,751.61
The lowest and best bid submitted appears to be that of GTE. GTE
submitted attachments "A" and "B" with their bid which clarified
and took exceptions to certain portions of the contract require-
ments. We have reviewed the attachments and have found all items
of clarification of attachment "A" to be acceptable. We have
reveiwed the exceptions taken under attachment "B" with Mr. Robert
Dillard, the City's Attorney, and have found the additional wording
concerning royalties and patents, item 3.14, to be acceptable and
have also found the substitution wording concerning indemnifica-
tion, item 3.17, to be acceptable.
We, therefore, recommend the City award the contract for the
installation of new telephone facilities in the new Municipal

Complex to GTE in the amount of $16,751 .61 with the understanding
that only items 3.14 and 3.17 are acceptable and that no other
exceptions or clarifications of attachment "B" are acceptable.
