CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
Mayor Eric Hogue called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with the following Wylie City Council
members present: Councilwoman Diane Culver, Mayor pro tern Nathan Scott, Councilman Keith
Stephens, Councilman Rick White, Councilman Bennie Jones, and Councilman Todd Wintters.
Staff present included: City Manager, Mindy Manson; City Secretary, Carole Ehrlich, and Public
Information Officer, Craig Kelly.
INVOCATION & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Hogue gave the invocation and City Manager Manson led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mayor Hogue convened into Executive Session at 6:03 p.m. citing the exception below.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Recess into Closed Session in compliance with Section 551.001, et.seq. Texas Government Code, to wit:
§§Section 551.074. PERSONNEL MATTERS; CLOSED MEETING.
(a) This chapter does not require a governmental body to conduct an open meeting:
(1) To deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties,
discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee; or
(2) To hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee.

(b) Subsection (a) does not apply if the officer or employee who is the subject of the
deliberation or hearing requests a public hearing.
RECONVENE INTO REGULAR SESSION
Take any action as a result from Executive Session.
Mayor Hogue reconvened into Open Session at 8:45 p.m.
REGULAR AGENDA
1. Consider, and act upon,the appointment of a new Mayor pro tern for a term
beginning August 2013 and ending May 2014. (Mayor Hogue)
Mayor Hogue announced to those present that Councilman Nathan Scott had tendered his
resignation as Mayor pro tern earlier in the week. He asked for a motion from the council
appointing a new Mayor pro tern to serve the remaining council cycle.
Council Action
A motion was made by Councilman Stephens, seconded by Councilwoman Culver to appoint
Councilman Rick White as Mayor pro tem to serve a term beginning August 2013 and ending
May 2014. A vote was taken and the motion passed 7-0.

2. Consider, and act upon,holding a Work Session and discussion regarding the topics
to be addressed at the Work Session. (Mayor Hogue)
Mayor Hogue stated that he had requested this item be placed on the agenda to discuss holding
a council work session/retreat sometime in the near future to discuss Council Leadership and
Team Building. He asked staff to determine the best time for this to be held and report back to
the council.
He asked council if there were any other items they wished to be posted for this agenda.
Council Action
A motion was made by Mayor Hogue, seconded by Councilman White to hold a council work
session/retreat sometime in the near future to discuss Council Leadership and Team Building.
A vote was taken and the motion passed 7-0.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Councilman White, seconded by Councilman Jones to adjourn the
meeting at 8:48 p.m. A vote was taken and the motion passed 7-0.
