Dear Mr. Johnson:
We have determined that Development Corporation of Wylie, Inc., Taxpayer No.
3-01142-6066-1, qualifies for exemption from franchise tax as a public interest
organization effective November 5, 1990. In the event that we have reason to
believe that it no longer qualifies for exemption, we will notify its registered agent
that the exempt status is under review.
Although the corporation is now exempt from the payment of the franchise tax, it
does not qualify for sales tax exemption on its purchases. Professional and social
groups, cemeteries, homeowners associations and other like organizations do not
meet the requirements for sales tax exemption. If the organization has a federal
exemption under Section 501(c)(3), (4), (8), (10) or (19) of the Internal Revenue
Code, please provide us with a copy of the determination letter and we will
consider its exempt status from sales tax.

Dear Raymond,
William Martin Attached is certification from the State Comptroller' s
City Council Office exempting Wylie Economic Development Corporation
from franchise tax. You will note that this does not
include sales tax exemption.
Raymond, all the work has been done. Accordingly the Wylie
PatStemple Economic Development Corporation has now complied with all
City Council laws in order to conduct official business meetings. As I
have stated before the City of Wylie stands ready to assist
in any manner the board may desire. I think you will recall
in a proposal from me •how the City might assist .
It is my understanding that the City Secretary has formally
Steve Wright advised you on meetings , i .e. open meetings , agendas, record
City Council keeping , etc . Since the Mayor and City Manager are ex-
officio members please send us all agendas so that our
participation can be helpful .
