Patton is to find out what if any concerns are regarding volunteer ran offsite events without staff present. Questions to Minutes—April 2, 2013 Wylie Animal Shelter Advisory Board Page 1 regard whether the animals can be transported to and from such events are also of concern. All board members have concern for such action. This will be tabled for further discussion after Patton has followed chain of command for concerns and questions. Patton states the shelter simply does not have staffing to perform such events. Shelia Patton has raised question to can the shelter have a separate account for monetary donations. The boards view is that the shelter shall not receive such donations. The shelter may receive material donations such as food, cleaners, toys, bedding and kennels. Shelia Patton has confirmed that the part time administrative assistant position has been filled. There is much justification for this position to go full time and will be submitted at the next budget session. Shelia Patton has voiced concern of many residents frustration with calling the shelter and getting the voice mail system. The shelter only has one line in. Patton states that if this line is in use callers will get voice mail system. Board members suggest that Patton check into what it would take to install a multiline system at front desk. Patton expresses concern as to whether it is a reasonable expectation to expect a part time employee already managing several tasks to also answer multiline system.
