MEETING - MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 25 , 1987
5: 30 P. M.
The Wylie City Council met in a called session on Friday,
September 25 , 1987 at 5: 30 P . M. in the conference room at
City Hall . A quorum was present and notice of the meeting
had been posted in the time and manner required by law.
Those present were Mayor Chuck Trimble, Council Members
Calvin Westerhof, Marvin Blakey and Kent Crane, City Manager
John Pitstick, City Secretary Carolyn Jones . Those absent
were Mayor Pro Tem Sandra Donovan, Council Members John
Akin , and Chris DiTota who were out of town.
Mayor Trimble called the meeting to order .
APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 86-38A TO PROVIDE
FOR $30 ,000 .00 OF THE ASSESSED VALUATION OF RESIDENCE
HOMESTEADS BE EXEMPT FROM AD VALOREM TAXES FOR ALL PROPERTY
OWNERS SIXTY-FIVE (65) YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER: Motion was
made by Councilman Westerhof to approve the ordinance
amending Ordinance #86-38A to provide for $30 ,000 .00 of the
assessed valuation of residence homesteads be exempt from Ad
Valorem Taxes for all property owners sixty-five (65) years
of age and older . Seconded by Councilman Blakey. The vote
was as follows: Mayor Trimble - in favor, Councilman
Westerhof - in favor , Councilman Blakey - in favor , and
Councilman Crane - in favor . This motion carried with all
in favor .
There being no other business , a motion was made to adjourn
with all in favor .
