04-14-1944 (City Council) Minutes Housewright, Hammett & Company HARDWARE. FURNITURE. IMPLEMENTS FUNERAL DIRECTORS WYLIE. TEXAS April 14,1941. The council for the City of Wylie met at the above date in a regular meeting with all members present,yhe minutes of the previous meeting were read and appoved. Results of the election were read as follows : J.A.?Pitts for mayor I4,C.R.Hillis for mayor ,2 ,J,H.Callaway marshall ,I5,Nrr.hoop©r for marshall I,E.Housewright Alderman,I6 ,Dan Willis ,Alderman,I6, kinor iiousewright Sec. I64all of which took the oath of office and were installed ; the following cormitties were appointed without dissent:street committee E Housewright and C.R,Hillis ;water & Sewage Claude Housewright & R.R. Addington;health officer,Dr,P.F. Brooks;finance,D.B,Willis& Claude Housewright)mayor pro- tem, C.R.Hillis ;Com.swim pool D.B.Willis&Claude Houserright. L, P. Thompkins and Tom Bozeman attended the meeting urging an ext entio of the sewerage line to their property;their recgi est was referred to the water and sewerage committee to investigate the practicabilities of the project. Claude Housewright was appointed to discuss the possibilities of hiring a night watch for the City with the citizens especially with the business men. Cold storage problem was discussed and dismissed without definite action, A motion by RrR addington seconded by Dan Willis and approved by he council for a weeks paid vacation for H.A.Long,leaving the responsibili y with long to hire a r`eplacemrnt. A move wa•s made by E?Housewright and approved to reimburse Truett Smith 4/50 for expenses incurred in the last war bond sale.
