02-15-1945 (City Council) Minutes February 15, 1945 A Regular Meeting of the Council today attended by: C Housewright, CG Housewright, RR Addington, CR Hillis, JA Pitts, DB Willis. The secretary was instructed to answer a letter regarding a glove factory to be located on the Santa Fe Rwy. Letter in reference was from Mr. J. S. Whitemore, RR agent of Santa Fe Rwy. The multitude of dogs in the community was discussed and fear of a rabid infection expressed. The Mayor will call an election 1st Tuesday in April, being the 3rd, J. H. Riffe to hold the election, 3 councilmen to be elected. The painting of the water tower was discussed. The Water Committee was instructed to have the top of the(s -illegible)basin recovered or repaired. The price of water to the Santa Fe Ry was discussed and a rate was established as follows: 1st 2000 gals. 1.00, next 3000 gals 40cents thousand, from 5000 gal up to 25000 gals .20 cents gal. All over 25000 gal at 15cents per thousand. This scheduled and voted on and approved by action of the council; and any other user in the city that uses that amount of water, to enjoy the same rates. Motion was made and approved unanimously for the appointment of Glen Daniel for Fire Marshall and Fire Chief. The following bills were read and approved: C. G. Housewright 100.25 J. H.
