07-15-1943 (City Council) Minutes July 15, 1943
The City Council of the City of Wylie met on July 15, 1943. Members present were Mayor
J. A. Pitts, Aldermen C. R. Hillis, E. Housewright, C. G. Housewright, R. R. Addington and D. B.
Willis.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pitts, Minutes of the last meeting were read by the
secretary. No objections were made so minutes we prounounced approved by Mayor.
E Housewright was appointed by the Mayor to work with members of clothing
manufacturing firm to be opened in the City. He was also instructed to secure agreement from owner
of building to house said firm, to the effect that if he did not reimburse City for expenditures on said
building, fixtures and improvements made by the City, may be removed by the whenever it may see
fit.
The Treasurer reported $396.59 in the sinking fund and $3667.81 in the General Fund.
A check was received from the Texas Power and Light Co. in the amount of 135.00 street
rental for twelve months immediately preceeding June 24, 1943
The following list of bills were read and on a motion by C. R. Hillis, second by C. G.
