09-15-1943 (City Council) Minutes September 15, 1943 The City Council of the City of Wylie met on September 15, 1943 in the City Hall at Wylie Texas. Those present were Mayor J. A. Pitts, Councilmen R. R. Addington, C. R. Hillis, C. G. Housewright and D. B. Willis. The minutes of the last meeting were ready by the secretary. Motion made by C. R. Hillis that minutes stand approved as read—motion seconded by R. R. Addington. Motion carried. C. R. Hillis made a motion to approve W. C. Allen appointed by Mayor J. A. Pitts to fill unexpired term as Treasurer of the City of Wylie. Motion seconded by C. G. Housewright—motion carried. Letter to the Council from G. P. Maynard, M. D. was read by the Secretary. Contents expressed gratitude for water service to writer's farm outside City Limits. Enclosed was check in the amount of Twelve&no/100 dollars ($12.00) with the stipulation that the amount should be paid annually by the writer and/or any other customer that may connect on said line. Motion made by C. G. Housewright that stipulations of said letter be carried out and recorded in minutes of this meeting. Motion seconded by R. R. Addington—motion carried. R. R. Addington made a motion that master meter be placed at the City Limits at each of the water lines serving out-of-town customers; that said meters be read each month and checked against totals of all meters on respective line; that any discrepancy in totals be paid for equally by each customer on line where such discrepancy shall occur. Motion seconded by D. B. Willis—Motion carried. Motion made by C. G. Housewright that Books of the City Tax Assessor-Collector be approved. C. R. Hillis seconded that motion—motion carried. Motion made by C. G. Housewright that members of Equilization Board for City Tax Assessment be paid Five&no/100 dollars ($5.00) each for their services. Motion seconded by C. R. Hillis.
