10-15-1943 (City Council) Minutes October 15, 1943
The City Council of the City of Wylie met on October 15, 1943 in the City Hall at Wylie
Texas.
Those present were Mayor J. A. Pitts, Council men, R. R. Addington, C. R. Hillis, C. G.
Housewright, E. Housewright and D. B. Willis.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by the secretary. Motion made by E.
Housewright, seconded by C. G. Housewright that minutes be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion made by C. G. Housewright that only one sewerage charge be made to Johnson&
Co. instead of the Two dollar charge now being made. Motion seconded by E. Housewright—motion
carried.
Motion made by R. R. Addington to deduct Penalty and Interest due on taxes against Mollie
Stone Est, from 1937 to date in consideration of full payment of such taxes up to date. Motion
seconded by D. B. Willis. Motion carried.
Letter addressed to Mayor Pitts, signed by H. A. Long, water superintendent, asking that his
salary be raised to one hundred, twenty five dollars per month and offering his resignation in the
event the said raise was not agreeable to the Council was read by the secretary.
Motion made by C. R. Hillis to raise Water Superintendent's salary from one hundred dollars
to one hundred, twenty-five dollars per month effective 10-15-43. Motion seconded by D. B. Willis.
Motion carried.
The treasurer reported $4,029.83 in General fund and $590.35 in the Sinking fund.
