CALL TO ORDER
Announce the presence of a Quorum.
Shelia Patton called to order at 6:34 pm. Board members present: Shelia Patton, David Dahl,
David Lewis and Staff Liaison Lt. Mike Atkison Absent: Amy Nutz & Dr. Chuck Kerin
INVOCATION & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Shelia Patton. The Invocation was led by David Dahl.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
• Discussion regarding budget proposal requests pertaining to compliance aid with
Chapter 823, Health and Safety Code. (S. Patton, ASAB Chair)
Shelia Patton reports budget proposal requests were made for the following:
Increase in staffing by adding one Kennel Attendant
Additional funding for parvocidal and cat friendly chemicals
Additional funding for training
Additional funding for spay, neuter, micro-chipping, vaccinations on intake

REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS
1. Consider and act upon approval of the Animal Advisory Board minutes of
December 4, 2013. (S. Patton, ASAB Chair)
Board Action
A motion was made by David Lewis to accept Animal Shelter Advisory Board minutes of
December 4, 2013 as presented. David Dahl seconded to accept minutes. A vote was taken
and the motion passed unanimously.
2. Consider and act upon the appointment of an Animal Shelter Advisory Board
Chair for a term beginning July 2014 and ending July 2015. (S. Patton, ASAB Chair)
Board Action
Shelia Patton nominated David Dahl. David Lewis seconded the nomination of David
Dahl. Vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
3. Consider and act upon the appointment of an Animal Shelter Advisory
Board Vice Chair for a term beginning July 2014 and ending July 2015. (S.
Patton, ASAB Chair)
Board Action
David Lewis nominated himself for the Vice Chair position. David Dahl seconded this
nomination. Vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
4. Consider and act upon the establishment of Quarterly Animal Shelter Advisory
Board meetings to be held the second Wednesday of January, April, July &
October at 6:30pm. (S. Patton, ASAB Chair)
Board Action
The motion of establishment of quarterly meetings was accepted by David Dahl. This
motion was seconded by David Lewis. Further David Dahl requested future meetings
be held in the City Council chambers and that public discussion be added to the
agenda. Meeting schedule is to begin January 1, 2015. Current year schedule of
meetings will be second Wednesday of September and November to complete the state
mandated three meeting schedule for 2014.

ADJOURNMENT
Motion was made by Shelia Patton and seconded by David Dahl to adjourn meeting. With no
further business before the board, consensus of the board was to adjourn at 6:50 pm.
