04-14-1908 (City Council) Minutes Wylie Texas April 14, 1908
The Town Council of the Town of Wylie met in special session on April 14th at
City Hall, J. W. Arris, A. Brown, J. J. Holloman, C. J. Gallagher, and J. A.
Hammette.
The tally list of city election was submitted by Dale Story and being read by the
secretary and examined by J. W. Arris , the result was declared as follows. J. W.
Arris as Mayor Protem do declare J. B. Baskette elected as Mayor and L. L. Gant
and J. A. Wilson elected as aldermen for town of Wylie.
J. B. Baskette was called and sworn after which L. L. Gant and J. A. Wilson were
sworn, oath being administered by Sect. L. A. Powell.
The bond of J. B. Baskette was read and accepted.
An account was presented by Dale Story for holding election on April 7. $10.00.
Same was allowed.
Mayor J. B. Baskette made appointments as follows:
J. A. Hammette, "Mayor Protem"
J. W. Arris, "Treasurer"
J. A. Wilson and J. A. Hammette-Finance Committee
L. L. Gant, C. J. Gallagher and J. W. Arris, Street Committee
No further business being in order, adjournment carried.
