07-24-1916 (City Council) Minutes Called Session
Wylie, Texas, July 24th, 1916.
The town council met in called session- the following members of the council being
present to-wit: Mayor E. R. Daniel, Councilmen, A. Brown, W. H. Brigham, H. W.
Lawrence and J. A. Long and City Attorney, W.F. Duncan. The purpose of the meeting
was to consider the advisability of accepting three lots in the INTERURBAN
DEVELOPMENT COMPANY'S SOUTH SIDE ADDITION to the Town of Wylie, for
park purposes.
Motion to accept three lots in said addition for park purposed was made and seconded.
The following members of the council voted Aye: H. W. Lawrence, J. A. Long, W. H.
Brigham and A. Brown. Motion carried.
THE INTERURBAN DEVELOPMENT COMPANY acting through Mr. Geo. A.
Alexander, their agent, agreed to deed said lots to the town of Wylie, the consideration
being that the said town of Wylie would agree to plant eight trees on each lot and also
plant the same in mesquite grass. In the event said trees or grass should die- the said town
agreed to replant same and should keep this up for the period of three years. And a
violation thereof shall at the option of the grantors render said contract and deed null and
void.
A resolution was passed by said council to the effect that E. R. Daniel, Mayor and Loyd
Neilon, Clerk, be authorized to inter
into a contract in writing with said co. carrying out the terms of said agreement.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
