11-16-1919 (City Council) Minutes 11/16/19
The Town of Wylie met in regular session on above date with the following members
present: Mayor J. T. Groves, Councilmen, J. C. Spurgin, C. M. Gallagher, J. R. Bowman,
Albert Davis, Clerk, Fred Duncan, H. P. Howery. G. P. Maynard & A. E.Douglas were
absent.
The committee appointed to sell the City hall reported that they had not sold it. It was
regularly moved and seconded that the committee be released from the 400.00 minimum
and instructed to sell it to the best advantage. Motion carried.
Some letters from the State Fire Marshall was read. The Fire Marshall was instructed to
have some necessary blanks printed as required by State office.
Jesse Callaways resignation was recinded and accepted.
A letter from the State Health Office was read . The clerk was instructed to send the
names of our physicians to the State Health Office with a request to appoint one of them
as a health officer. A committee composed of the following men was appointed to confer
with the County Commissioners in regard to getting county aid for some road work: A.
U. Taylor, W. H. Brighton, Geo Housewright, Roy Stone, S.M. McDonald, Jan Daniels,
Letson Hillis.
Bill in favor of J. T. Elliot Lbr. Co. for 33.70 was allowed.
