10-07-1925 (City Council) Minutes Oct 7, 1925 Council met in regular session in the office of city attorney with the following present: G. W. Housewright, Mayor—Jno Houston, L. F Daniel, Loyd Neilon, J. H. Finch, C. J. Marrs, Alderment, W. F. Duncan Atty, L. F. Hughes, Clerk, Mr. Fosque, Engr- Cotton Belt Ry. It was regularly moved and seconded that the Ry. crossing on Jefferson St. over Cotton Belt Ry. be discontinued. Motion carried. All voting Aye. It was also moved and seconded in regular order that the Mayor and Secy be authorized to sign contract with Cotton Belt Ry. in regard to using their property for street from Marble to Brown Streets, utilizing a tract 40 by 700 feet and granting them privilege of closing Jefferson St.crossing. Motion carried. It was moved and seconded that committee be appointed to audit all of the books of the city. Motion carried and the following were appointed: J.H. Finch, C. J. Marrs, L. F. Hughes. They will make report to the council when the work is completed. A motion was made and seconded that notice be served on all persons within the city limits who are using their wells for cess pools to discontinue the practice at once. Motion carried unanimously.
