11-04-1925 (City Council) Minutes Nov 4th, 1925 Council met in regular session with the following members present: G. W. Housewright, Mayor, Loyd Neilon, Jno. Houston, L. F. Daniel, J. H. Finch, and C. J. Marrs, Aldermen, L. F. Hughes, clerk, J. W. Bradley, City Peace Officer, and Mr. Perry O'Neil of the Municipal Engr. Co. The minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. Mr. O'Neil explained and pointed out the conditions of the written agreement that had been drawn up between his company and the city regarding plans, etc, for a sewer system for the city. In effect the agreement is as follows: The Municipal Engr Co. Shall make survey of the town and make specifications regarding the cost of installation of the system and present same to the city council. The expense of this work not to accrue in any way to the city. After the estimate of the cost is made, the City has the right to accept or reject the plans. The installation to be accomplished only providing enough signatures of the citizens can be obtained to warrant the financing of the project. It was moved and seconded in regular order that the above agreement be accepted and that the mayor and clerk sign same. Motion carried. It was also moved and seconded that the Mayor and Secy sign the contract with the citizens regarding their intention of subscribing for and installing sewer system improvements on their property. Motion carried. It was called to the attention of the council that a walk was badly needed across the street in front of J. A. Wilson's property. It was moved and seconded that the walk be built with a portion of used material that was now on hand. Motion carried. Mr. J. W. Bradley was granted 30 days leave of absence upon his request Nov 16th to Dec 16th, 1925. <Mr. Lokey relieved Mr. Bradley in this position> There being not further business, council adjourned.
