12-15-1930 (City Council) Minutes Dec 15/ 1930
Council met on above date with all present except C. L. Hillis &E. Housewright. After
invocation by Mayor Maynard, a communication from Water Tank Service Co. was read
being an offer to paint the city water tank&tower was regularly moved & second that
the Mayor be instructed to make contract with said company to do this work. Motion
carried.
Mr. Duncan was instructed to extend the city's thanks to the Plano Fire boys for their
help in our recent fire. An ordinance was proposed creating the office of Fire Marshal
under the legislative act of 1927 &repealing any ordinance conflicting with same and on
motion& second was passed unanimously. Was moved & second that an ordinance be
passed offering a reward of$200.00 for the arrest& final conviction of anyone guilty of
the crime of arson. Ordinance passed unanimously.
The following bills were allowed: J. C. Jennings, 3.78, A. Davis, 2.50, Wylie Herald,
19.50, S. G. Allison, 1.50, Coupons paid, 150.00, Dorsey Co, 56.18, G. H. Richard's
salary, 3.00, assessing taxes, 90.00, T P &L Co., 39.00 + 52.80 + 1.50 = 93.30.
The Marshal was instructed to post reward notices in six public places offering the
200.00 reward for arrest& conviction of person guilty of arson.
No further business, council adjourned.
