03-22-2018 (Historic Review) Minutes %A CITY OF Wylie Historic Review Commission WYLIE Minutes Wylie Historic Review Commission Monday,March 22, 2018—6:00 pm Wylie Municipal Complex—Council Chambers 300 Country Club Road,Building 100 CALL TO ORDER Chair Gary Taylor called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM and stated that a quorum was present. Commissioners present: Commissioner Scott Cessna, Commissioner Joe Chandler, and Commissioner Bob Heath, Sr., Commissioner John Pugh, and Commissioner Sandra Stone. Commissioner Mandi Wilson was absent. Staff present: Renae' 011ie, Director of Development Services, and Administrative Assistant Mary Bradley. CITIZENS COMMENTS Chair Taylor opened the Citizens Participation. With no one approaching the Commissioners, Chair Taylor closed the Citizens Participation. CONSENT AGENDA Consider and act upon approval of the Minutes from October 26, 2017, Special Called Meeting. A motion was made by Commissioner Stone and seconded by Commissioner Pugh, to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried 6—0. Regular Agenda Item 1- 100 W Jefferson Consider and act upon a recommendation to the City Council regarding a request for Substantial renovations of a residential structure in accordance with Ordinance No. 2013- 17, generally located at the northeast corner of Jefferson St. and Jackson St., and more specifically at 100 W. Jefferson within the Downtown Historic District. Staff Presentation 1 Minutes March 22,2018 Wylie Historic Review Commission Page 1 of 2 Ms. 011ie stated that the Commission approved similar plans in September of 2017. However, due to historical marker on the structure, the renovations must meet the Secretary of Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. In an effort not to jeopardize the state designation, the applicant is submitting I modifications to the original scope of work. The modifications include replacing asphalt shingles instead of standing seam replacing the mid-century side addition with larger shed roof, and replacing the windows with reproduction double pane sash wood frame. The ramp originally approved will not be constructed. Board Action With no questions for the applicant, a motion was made by Commissioner Stone, and seconded by Vice Chair Heath to recommend approval to the City Council regarding a request for Substantial renovations of a residential structure in accordance with Ordinance No. 2013-17, generally located at the northeast corner of Jefferson St. and Jackson St., and more specifically at 100 W.
