04-13-1923 (City Council) Minutes April 13 1923
Special Meeting of the council was opened at 7 30 pm by Mayor GW Housewright. All
members were present except Alderman CJ Marrs. The following were sworn in office in due
form. Chas L Hillis and L Fay Hughes —Alderman and Clerk respectively. Resolutions of
thanks and appreciation to the outgoing officers for their faithful service was extended upon
motion which was duly seconded and carried.
The following street Committee was appointed for the ensuing term: EH Daniels, CJ Marrs and
D Story. The appointment to Fire Marshall DE Willis Mr. Chas L Hillis reappoionted Treasurer
Motion was made and duly seconded that the duties of City Marshall be conferred upon Mr. E
Housewright a Deputy Sheriff of Collin County. Motion Carried. Mr. Housewright has
expressed his willingness to serve in this capacity when necessary and an invitation is hereby
extended to him to attend council meetings.
The following bill was allowed and ordered paid:
Housewright-Hammett Co: Material for repairing City Hall $153.97.
There being no further business the Council Adjourned.
