02-06-1924 (City Council) Minutes Feby 6th 1924 The council met in regular session and was called to order at 7:30 pm by the Mayor with all members present. It was regularly moved and seconded, after considerable discussion that the charge for tapping the water main be set at $5.00. This charge to entitle the customer the water service to his property line. The motion carried unanimously. It was then called to the attention of the commission the necessity of laying the water main on Ballard Ave south of Santa fe Depot without disturbing the gravel road, which was decided could be accomplished satisfactorily. There being no further business council adjourned. Approved: 3/11/24 Mayor L Fay Hughes Clerk March 5th 1924 The Council met in regular session with all members present. It was moved and seconded that an election be ordered for three (3) Aldermen, Mayor and City attorney. Motion carried and the election was ordered to be held on the first Tuesday in April which is on April 1st. Mr. John Houston was named as presiding Judge of the election. It was moved and seconded that Mr Jn Houston be reimbursed for duplicate payment of taxes on the Albert property for 1 year. Motion carried. It was moved and seconded that the flat rate for water be $1.50 per month. Motion carried. It was regularly moved and seconded that Mr Cribbs be employed for one (1) month for the purpose of tapping the water main as directed by proper authorities and for performing any work that he was called upon to do at a salary of$100.00, with the understanding that Mr Cribgs would not consider the City officials under any obligations with reference to his permanent employment. Motion carried and Mr Cribbs accepted the appointment for one (1) month—from March 6th to April 6`h, 1924. There being no further business council adjourned Approved 3/11/24 Mayor L Fay Hughes Clerk
