06-13-1924 (City Council) Minutes JUN 13 1924 The Council met in regular Session with the following present: Geo W Housewright Mayor, LF Daniel, D Story, Chas L Hillis Alderman, WF Duncan Any LF Hughes Secy. The following were appointed to serve as City Tax equalization Board for 1924: Jick Housewright, Earl Hogge and CC Pitts. Date set for ls`meeting of board was July 10`h It was moved and seconded in regular order that notices be run in the Wylie paper instructing customers to pay water rent to LF Daniel on or before the 10th of each month. The motion carried. It was also moved and seconded and passed unanimously that LF Daniel be allowed 5% for collecting water rent. It was also moved and seconded and passed unanimously that a committee be appointed to Employ pumper to handle the water works system. Appointed: D Story, LF Daniel and Chas L Hillis. The Mayor then instructed the street committee and fire Marshall to see that the premises in rear of Building on west side of business section of Ballard Ave is cleaned up immediately. There being no further business, the Council adjourned. Approved: 8/6/24 Mayor LF Hughes Secy AUG—6 1924 Council met in Regular session with the following present: Mayor, GW Housewright—Alderman JH Finch, CJ Mans, D Story and LF Daniel—Any WF Duncan, Secy LF Hughes. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Committee appointed to secure pumper made report and was then discharged on regular motion and second. The report of the Committee was accepted, and their action in securing H. Corzine as pumper at $60.00 per month was approved. The action of the board on June 13th regarding water rent being paid to LF Daniel was rescinded. An ordinance was then passed making tax rate 1.00 to water fund plus $.25 to general fund. Both ordinances are on file. Upon motion and second in regular form it was voted that in case of shortage of water, those being served outside the city limits would be cut off.
