04-13-1926 (City Council) Minutes APR 13 1926
Council met in called Session with the following present:
GW Housewright mayor—Loyd Neilon, LF Daniel, JH Finch, Jno. Houston, Aldermen, LF
Hughes clerk, LO Neal.
The results of the City Election were declared as follows = For Mayor LO Neal. For
Aldermen Mr Daniel Mr Marrs Mr Jick Housewright. The minutes of previous meetings were
read and approved.
The Street Committee, who were instructed to investigate the grounding of electric stoves
to the water system were not ready to render report.
E Housewright sent word that he would like to be relieved of the duties of Fire Marshall.
No action taken by the Council.
Mr GW Housewright submitted a report showing amount that had been collected and paid
in to the city in fines & occupation taxes Etc during his administration. It was moved &
seconded that the report be accepted & filed. Motion carried.
A motion & second carried that the retiring officers of the council be extended thanks &
appreciation for services rendered during their administrations. Mr Housewright expressed his
thanks to the members of the council for the cooperation in the work with him the past and said
that his efforts in the work had always been for the betterment of all concerned according always
to his best judgment & ability.
The new members were sworn into office by Notary WF Duncan except alderman Marrs.
Upon regular motion & second the bond of LO Neal was accepted
There being no further business, council adjourned.
