CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chair Sandra Stone called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM and stated that a quorum was
.present. Commissioners present: Commissioner John Pugh, Commissioner Deborah Hall,
Commissioner Scott Cessna, Commissioner Joe Chandler and Commissioner Kevin Finnell.
Commissioners absent: Chair Gary Taylor.
Staff present: Renae 011ie, Development Services Director, and Administrative Assistant Mary
Bradley.
CITIZENS COMMENTS
Chair Stone opened the Citizens Participation. With no one approaching the Commissioners,Chair
Stone closed the Citizens Participation.
CONSENT AGENDA
Consider and act upon approval of the Minutes from October 11,2018, Special Called
Meeting.
A motion was made by Commissioner Finnell and seconded by Commissioner Hall,to approve
the minutes as submitted. Motion carried 5—0.
Regular Agenda
Item 1 -105 N Jackson
Remove from Table
Commissioner Chandler made a motion to remove the discussion regarding 105 N
Jackson. Commissioner Cessna seconded the motion and a vote was taken. Motion
passed 5—0, Commissioner Pugh arrived after the vote.
Consider and act upon a recommendation to the City Council regarding a request to
construct a new Greek Revival residential structure for commercial uses on a single lot

within the Downtown Historic District, located within the Keller's 1st Addition, Block 2,
Lot 3 (105 N.Jackson Ave).
Staff Presentation
Ms. 011ie stated that the item was postponed from the meeting on October 11, 2018.
The applicant is presenting a Greek Revival style structure. The identifying features
according to Virginia Savage McAlester's book A Field Guide to American Houses, is
gabled or hipped roof of low pitch, cornice line of main roof and porch roofs
emphasized with wide band of trim.
The proposed structure will be 3,222 square feet,with a 526 square feet covered porch,
and 424 square foot patio. The gabled roof pitch is 6:12. An ADA compliance ramp
will be in the front and back of the structure.
Chair Stone questioned the difference between Craftsman and Greek Revival style.
Ms. 011ie stated that there is no exposure under rafters in a Greek Revival.
Commissioners asked about the color of the house. Ms. 011ie stated that no color has
been decided, and it will meet the historic palette colors.
Board Action
Commissioner Hall made a motion to recommend approval to the City Council
regarding a request to construct a new Greek Revival residential structure for property
located 105 N Jackson Avenue. Commissioner Pugh seconded the motion.A vote was
taken and carried 6—0.
Ms. Bradley stated that a new application was submitted, with the fourth Thursday
being a holiday asked for a poll for a meeting on November 29, 2018. Commissioner
Cessna and Commissioner Hall both stated that they may not be able to attend due to
work conflicts.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Pugh made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Cessna seconded the
motion and all Commissioners were in consensus.
