CALL TO ORDER-WYLIE CITY COUNCIL
City Council members present were Mayor John Mondy; Mayor Pro Tem/City Chair Eric
Hogue and Council Member/City Vice Chair Rick White. School Board members present
were: WISD Trustee/School Subcommittee Chair Susan Schuler; WISD Trustee Ronni
Fetzer and WISD Trustee Henry Garland. Also in attendance were Dr. John Fuller,
Superintendent of Schools and Mark B. Roath, City Manager.
REGULAR AGENDA
1. Open Space Area available for Future Joint Projects including Walking Trails
Dr. John Fuller expressed the need for a City/School partnership in expansion of the trail
system. In addition, Dr. Fuller reiterated that the School District has seven acres, mostly
in the flood plain, that could be used to create or expand the trail system. Dr. Fuller also
advised the Subcommittee membership that Brian Miller and Sherry Corning are his
parks and recreation contacts, when asked to provide school contacts to discuss the trails
system.
2. Location of Future Schools
Dr. John Fuller showed the Subcommittee membership a City map that included current
as well as future schools. In showing the Subcommittee the map, he talked about the pros
and cons of each site. After some discussion, Henry Garland expressed an interest in
finding out about the current residential subdivisions within the City including the
potential number of units to be built in each as well as associated population figures.
3. Continued Review of Joint Projects between the City of Wylie and Wylie I.S.D.
during the Past 10 Years
Dr. John Fuller expounded upon collaborative efforts between the City and the School
District.

4. Drafting Scheduling and Financing Plan for the 2005 Bond Program
Mark Roath presented the City Administration's proposed phasing plan for the 2005
Bond Program.
5. Future City/School Joint Meeting and Potential Agenda Topics
Eric Hogue suggested that it was time for the Subcommittee to inform the full City
Council and full Board of Trustees about the discussions of the group—namely, by
holding a Joint Meeting between the City Council and Board of Trustees. He further
suggested that the Joint Meeting be held in March, 2006. It was the consensus of the
Subcommittee membership that Dr. John Fuller and Mark Roath meet and draft a
potential joint meeting agenda for the group to review at its February meeting.
The Subcommittee agreed to meet next on February 6th at 6:30 a.m. at the Wylie High
School.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 a.m.
