HOUSEWRIGHT WYLIE, TEXAS August 15, 1947 • The City Council, City of Wylie met in regular session the above date with z all members of the council being present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A motion was made by R.J. Hall and Seconed by J.H. Edgington zzatmnummmild4 that the city appept Roland Boyd's proposal to be attorney for the City of Wylie for a sum of 1125.00 monthly. Motion carried. Mr. Steck, a representitive of the Cathodic Servicing Co. met with the council, and made a lengthy discussion in regard to what his product would do for our storage tank. The cost for this service would be ° 560.00 for the installitation and servicing for one year. No definite action was made on this matter. Roland Boyd led a discussion in regard to Cities and Public Utilities. At the end of this discussion he gave a copy of Article 706 that explains fully what can and cannot be charged Public Utilities by the Cities in which they are operating. Mr. Boyd also led a discussion in regard to City Limits of a town, or city. This is explained fully in Article 974 of which he gave us a copy for our files. • A motion was made by John Sharp and Seconed by 0.W. Hampton that a letter be wrote to the Texas Highway Department requesting that the highway 78 come on the right side of the Gulf Coast Santa Fe Railroad from Garland to Wylie. This route is to follow the much discussed route that is to use the easement that was granted the highway department by the Wylie School Board. The mayor took the responsibility of writing this letter. Motion Carried. A motion was made by F.A. Gallagher and seconed by J.H. Edgington that R.V. Christopher be paid with-out a written order for cleaning the town, until further notice. Motion Carried. It was decided that the city would charge R.W. Harrison the sum of t25.00 a year for the right tog operate a taxi in the city limits of Wylie. This is not a franchise, but mearly permission to operate within the city. %.16/1&641/ D.W.
