At the regular meeting of the City Council, City of Wylie, the following landaksgx
members were present: D.W. Click-mayor; F.A. Gallagher41i1er ; O.W. Hampton,
John Edgington, R.J. Hall, and sectretary W.W. Hotasewright.
Geo. Hughes met with the council in regard to getting the street opened to
the new cemetery that has been under discussion for the past two years by the
council and Mr. Hughes.
The mayor with the approval of the council made the following appointments:
J.A. Pitts--Tax assessor & Collector; Glenn Daniel--Fire Marshall; H.A. Long--
Water Superintendent; Rita Gallagher--Treasurer.
A motion was made by R.J. Hall and seconded by J.H. Edgington that under no
conditions would both fire trucks leave the city -limits at any one time. The
sectretary was instructed to write letters to the Fire Marshall, Fire Chief, and
Captain to this effect.
The mayor made the following appointments within the council. John Edgington and
John Sharp were to serve as the water and sewerage committy, R.J. Hall and F.A.
Gallagher were to serve as the Street Committy. O.W. Hampton to serve as finance
man.
A motion was made by J.H. Edgington and seconed by R.J. Hall that the city would
allow the highway department to come into and maintain the highway from Wylie
to Plano within the City Limits of Wylie. Motion Carried
A Motion was made by J.H. Edgington and seconed by R.J. Hail that the mayor
sign the agreement between the City of Wylie and the Gulf Colorado & Santa Fe
Railroad in -regard to the tract of land immc just south of the pump station.
Motion carried.
