HOUSEWRIGHT WYLIE, TEXAS April 27, 1949 At a call meeting of the City Council on the above date the following members were present. Mayor 0..W. Clink., Aldermen-T.H. Edgingtoa, LA, Gallagher, A.14 Boyd, J.E. Bowden,, and Secretary-W '. Honsenright. Boland Boyd, City Attorney, and W.C. Jackson Jr4 of the First Southwest Co. also met with the Council. Mr. Jackson gave a reviser of the work and troubles that he had_encountered in getting the court decreemodified. Be presented the Souncil with a cow of the signed modification. Mr. Jackson gave the following suggestions. That the City get their renderation up to $550,000.00, so that they would be able to retire the bonds, and_.pay the interest by the time they come due. Mr. Boyd gave the following suggestions as how to carry our Mr. Jackson's suggestion. The Council is to get a committee of men to go over the tax roll. mwebunklammbna before any assessing is done, and arrive at a fair market price of each piece of property that is on the roll. This is to be entered on the roll in pencil so that the assessor will have some figure to give the main ,pw/A-Ens. A motion was made by J.E.....Boeden and Seconed bury F.A. Gallagher that the City buy $1,500.00 in bonds. One thousand to be purchased from the First State Bank at Wylie, and $500.00 be purchased from the First Southwest Co. in Dallas. Motion Carried. A motion was made by J.H. Edgington and second by F.A. (el1$gher that the City Secretary and Mayor be authorised to place $1,250.00 in a new interest & Sinking Fund Accombt at the First State Bank .at Wylie, and also be directed to write the approPeyiate checks to purchase the $1,500..00 in bonddsinluded.in the above motion, further they are directed to write. a $500.00 check Payable. to the First Southwest Co, of Dallas for fi„ttia1 services rendered. The remainder of ter rikey, n?R .othe interest and sinking funds._be t ranafereed to the General Fund. A motion was made by J.H. Edgington & Second by J.E. Bowden that the City pay to the Wylie Vol. Fire Dept. 500 per member per regular meeting up to and. including 20 members, Motion carried.
