04-17-1950 (City Council) Minutes �+Ir +! .` ti Crrr HIF WYLIE WYLIE, TEXAS April 17, 1950 The City Council, City of Wylie, met in regular session on the above date with all members present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Returns of the City Election were read by the Secretary. Motion was made by F.A. Gallagher and seconded by John Edgington that all elected members .be sworn in to their respective offices. The following City Officials took the oath of office: D.W. Click, Mayor; R.V. Groves and A.W. Green, Aldermen; Button Fielder, Secretary and J.T. Hickman City Marshall. Retiring members are F.A. Gallagher, Ray Sheeks, Aldermen and W.W. Housewright, Secretary. A discussion was made in regard to having a Justice of Peace appointed. A motion was made by J.E. Bowden and seconded by R.V. Groves that Q.E. Boyd would be accepted as Justice of Peace on the Judge's appointment. Motion carried. A Motion was made by R.V. Groves and seconded by J.E. Bowden that J.T. Hickman would be paid a monthly salary of$20000 until September 1950. Motion Carried. The Mayor appointed the following committees: H.A. Long - Water luperintendent A.D. Boyd and R.V. Groves - Water and Sewerage J.E. Bowden and W.D. Green - Street J.H. Edgington - Mayor Pro Tem and Finance K/rA G/} b p EME,P- 7;PE,9s ve A discussion was held concerting the city maintainer. J.E. Bowden and W.D. Green were appointed to be in charge of the maintainer and it was dec- ided that a lock would be placed on the machine and the key given to J. Hickman. A motion was made by J.E. Bowden and seconded by J.H. Edgington that a telephone be placed in the residence of J.T. Hickman and that the monthly expenses incurred be paid by the City. Motion carried. A discussion was made concerning the Night Watchman. A motion was made by J.H. Edgington and seconded by W.D. Green that a monthly salary of $100.00 be paid.tMotion Carried. A committee of E. Housewright, M.M. Martin, Claude Allen, Ed Woods and C.R. Hillis was appointed to set a fair evaluation on property in the City.
