06-16-1952 (City Council) Minutes CITY Or WYLIE N WYLIE, TEXAS ME June 16, 1952 The cur Council of this city met in regular session on the above date with all members except Aldermen R.V. Groves being pm& present. The minutes of the last meeting was read and approved. There was a lengthy discussion in regard to the repairs that need to be done on the water tower with no definite action being taken. A motion was made by J. P. Nicholson and seconed by C. P. Taylor that all bills be paid. Motion carried. A discussion was made in regard to the holes in the streets. The Mayor appointed J.E. Bowden to see C.M. Birkett about getting some graves to fill same. Mayor Benton appointed C.Truett Smith to represent the City of Wylie in the North Texas Municipial Water District for the coming year. There was a discussion about the City helping the fire department to buy some uniforms. The council was favorable toward this, but was to wait until a later date to set the amount that they would help. Dr.L.M. Morrisset met with the council, and carried on a discussion in regard to Polio in our sus town. The secretary was to meet with the doctor and try to work out some ordinances in regard to sanitation in the City. A motion was made by J.E. Bowden and seconed. by J.W. Nicholson that the attorney for the city be authorized to colledt the delialuent taxes. Motion carried. A motion was made by J.W. Nicholson and seconed by A.D. Boyd that the City have all the alleys and streets mowed. Motion carried. July 14 was set as official clean up day for the city. A discussion was made in regard to a red light on the fire phone for the benefit of the Night watchman. A motion was made by C.W. Taylor and seconed by J.W. Nicholson that this be installed. Motion carried. A discussion was made in regard to the Public Hearing of Lavon Dam. The council was to exert every effort to make this meeting a success.
